The main component of both synthetic and petroleum-base oils is the basestock. The American Petroleum Institute defines five groups of basestocks. The molecules can slide against each other easily, reducing friction and heat. It does not thin out at high tempertures. AMSOIL

Cellulose and blended medias found in most oil filters have larger fibers than the synthetic nanofibers found in the EaO Filters. They also have larger spaces between their fibers. This causes contaminants to load in the depth of the media and plug the oil-flow path, resulting in higher restriction and less capacity.

Cleaning

Clean the housing with a shop towel, being careful not to knock contaminants into the air inlet. Filters can be cleaned by carefully vacuuming the filter media on the dirty side, or by holding the filter with one hand and carefully blowing the filter media at a 45 degree angle on the clean side using low-pressure shop air (15-20 lbs. psi).
